30 Weeks, 4 Days

For your viewing pleasure. My belly at almost 31 weeks. You wouldn't believe the comments I get these days. People can't believe I still have 2 months to go. Of course, one of the girls at my yoga class, who's three weeks behind me, said "You've gotten so big since the last time I saw you. I wish my belly was that big!" Apparently, women still compare themselves with each other even when they're pregnant -- it's kind of like looking at other women in their bikinis, but in reverse!

And, because I can't resist, a sneak peak at the nursery walls!

Goodbye 1, Goodbye 2, Hello Love*

So today I am officially 27 weeks pregnant and yesterday was exactly three months until my due date. You know what this means? Hello Third Trimester!

And to celebrate, my body has decided to grace me with new, horrible pregnancy symptom #503** -- raging, hellfire and brimstone heartburn! Yesterday was particularly bad and was set off by, what else, my berry oatmeal. Uggh, my esophagus was en fuego almost all morning until it subsided at lunch, at which point I decided to eat Thai food and it started up again. Note to self, pack Tums to have on hand at work!

Anyway, here are my 27 week pictures. 13 weeks to go!

I'm wearing my prenatal yoga clothes, so please don't mind the odd get-up.

No, that is not some grotesque growth on my belly, simply my finger pointing to my belly button, which is halfway to being an outie.

On the good news front, we received my glider/recliner today! I can now watch TV without putting five pillows behind my back. The bad news is that the matching ottoman is out of stock, so I'm using an end table from Ikea to prop up my feet, which isn't very comfortable. Chris put the glider together, and the cats have been very curious. You can lock the glider in place, so it doesn't move, but I am so afraid the kittehs are going to trap their paws in it as it's gliding back and forth.

*This blog title is to the tune of some montage song in the musical Chorus Line, except that the real lyrics are "goodbye 12, goodbye 13, hello love." You get the idea.
**I made the number up, it's probably something small and boring like symptom #10. Still this may be the most annoying symptom yet!

25 Week Shot

So here I am at 25 weeks! Only 15 more (or less) to go!

And for fun, some gratuitous pictures of Marzipan and me -- Marzi has nuzzled as close to my face as she possibly could.

Show and Tell Tuesday

Hard to believe another two weeks have gone by! I guess I'll let you be the judge if you think I've gotten bigger. I can't really tell. I haven't gained much weight in the past two weeks, but I think part of that was being sick last week. Nothing like a head cold to curb your appetite.

So here I am 22 weeks 5 days. I've read that the baby's weight gain really takes off from here on out -- at the rate of about 6 ounces a week! So maybe the belly will get noticeably bigger. In any case, it's kind of fun to run into acquaintances who didn't know I was pregnant. Jaw kind of drops. :)

Oh and the good news is that Chris finally felt Baby Berry kicking last night. He describes it as a tiny fist bump from the belly. Or should we call it a tiny terrorist fist jab? ;-)

Belly Shot Tuesday

In the interest of remaining consistent (mostly so I can remember later how huge I was), Chris is taking photos of me every two weeks. So here I am at 20 weeks 5 days. I don't seem to look that much bigger, but ahem, the scale tells me something different.

You can view the comparison by clicking on the label "belly" at the bottom of this post. Speaking of labels, I wonder by Blogger gave these examples as labels: scooters, vacation, fall. I can understand vacation as a label, but I really do not ever see myself labeling a blog post with "scooters."

18w5d Belly Shots

So here, as promised, are some shots of the "Belly!" We're going to try and post them at least every two weeks to show the progress. I have to say, the belly has definitely grown a lot in the past few weeks or maybe it's the maternity clothes that are accentuating it.
